Coating with visible opaque dyes The Epolight™ series of visible opaque dyes recently highlighted in this space attracted much attention. Customers brought to our notice applications for these formulated dyes we could not have guessed existed. Epolight™ 7276A through F were developed for injection-molding plastics. However, customers pointed out we overlooked the possibility of using visible opaque dyes in coatings. The Epolight™ 7276 series is not soluble in organic solvents. Now we introduce another family of visible opaque dyes that is highly soluble and can be formulated into coatings and inks: The Epolight™ 7527 series. Epolight™ 7527A cuts off at 670nm, Epolight™ 7527B at 800nm. Their spectra are shown below.
