Narrow Band, Visible Light Absorbing Dyes
What's New

In developing new formulations for injection molding of optical filters we saw a need for narrow band, highly thermally stable, visible light absorbing dyes to use with our near infrared (NIR) dyes. These dyes will not interact with NIR dyes but will block a very narrow band of the visible light spectrum. One such dye is Epolight™ 5262. The spectrum is shown below.

The dye has a Lambda Max at 635 nm, an absorptivity of 135 ( å=approx. 80,000) and is thermally stable and compatible with amminium dyes. It can be used in formulations for injection molding of polycarbonate, acrylic and other thermoplastics. It is available for sampling and can be supplied in quantity.
